Utah Vote could decide immigration plan’s future…

I found this article in today's Houston Chronicle interesting. It seems that a vote in a district that has fewer than 50,000 illegal immigrants and is 12 hours by car from the Mexico border could decide whether Bush's ailing immigration policy limps forward or is declared dead. This whole immigration hoopla is interesting, but I *really* like the final quote of the article: "If the truth be known, we should all leave the country and give it back to the Native Americans." Sometimes, arguing politics is like winning the race at the Special Olympics…geesh.

It’s amazing to me how things are decided — UTAH?!?!?
Why not ask Texans about Canadian immigrants? Or Boston about Korean? Or LA about how many people from Cut-n-Shoot Texas move to Willis (TX)?

not to be politically incorrect for the sake of being politically incorrect but isn’t winning the special olympics race really special only for those who work hard and take pride in their event even if it is not measured against world class competition.
That is politics in a nutshell: Rejects from the realworld finishing first in meaningless debates with other rejects who are third rate hacks who could never measure up to world class practioners of government like Jefferson, Washington, Adams, Jay, Franklin and Hamilton.
BTW at least Special Olympians can be looked at and appreciated. Politicians on the other hand are looked at like dog poop on the bottom of your shoe.

Amazing…Utah, of all places. One of my students told me before the year ended that she hated Bush. I asked her why and she, being a 4th grader, perfectly spouted off all that LULAC had fed her family. My school is 90% hispanic. It was really interesting listening to how much misinformation was being given to them.
(BTW Tom, I am teaching Art now…I get the job of being the most fun teacher on campus!)
