A Conspiracy of Grace
Posted by tom cottar under theology
I'm working on a little side project these days called 'The Heart of Student Ministry'. In reading over some old notes, I found this great quote from guru Mike Yaconelli when I heard him speak the year before he passed away. It's appropriate, not just for ministry, but for living as Christ-followers:
"Real Christians do not condone unbiblical living,… they redeem it."
We are not called to condone unbiblical living. We are not called to condemn it. But to redeem it. And it seems we stop short of that many times. It's one thing to call it sin, and point fingers. That's the all-too-easy part. But our task is to be about the business of redemption.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it a while…..

I love the smell of pipe tobacco. I might even break down one day and buy some just to burn it in the house.
