Things Move Pretty Fast…Part Three
Posted by tom cottar under news, student ministry
We started The Dive again this past Sunday night.
After a summer semi-hiatus, it's always a struggle to get back into the groove, and it always seems like one of the last things to fall into place is our Sunday pm dive time. We've been walking through 1 Corinthians (rich stuff), and most recently have been talking about spiritual gifts and how it's more about 'us' than 'me'. Our students constantly amaze me on Sunday nights.
It's an open source format (cool), but we're limited to about an hour (uncool). We typically take 10-15 minutes at the top of the hour to spend in prayer and silent reading/meditation over the section of scripture we're looking at. Then we come together and contribute to the 'group digestion' of how it applies to our lives. We learn from the Holy Spirit and from each other. We have a handful of godly adults present to offer wisdom and insight, but it's primarily a peer-to-peer learning experience. They share. They cry. They give testimony. They pray for each other.
It's a beautiful picture.
We'll be bloggin' live each Sunday night over there, so if you can't make it to Pville, join us online. When we move The Dive Blog to it's permanent home, I'll be sure and post permanent links….
