Last night's concert time was awesome. YS always blesses us with great times of corporate worship (in our General Sessions) as well as opportunities for intimate, experiental time to commune with our Maker/Lover.

And then they let us freakin' rock.

tfk.jpgAs a guitarist and child of the 80's, it did my soul good to feel the noise and passion of Thousand Foot Krutch. These four young, crazy guys from Alberta can bring it, trust me. Living in an area like Austin, famous for it's live music scene, I can say it was refreshing to have a Jesus-loving band of rockers bringing 110db of Ampeg, Mesa Boogie, and dw thunder.  Their new cd hits the streets in a few weeks (I think). If you're not familiar with them–shame on you. Their softer ballads have a little bit of Matchbox 20 in them (before Rob Thomas fell in love with Justin Timberlake's hair…). For their newer, in-your-face tracks, think Disturbed.

kutless.jpgNext up was Kutless, a fantastic band in their own right. I've liked these guys for a long time now, and seeing them live wasn't disappointing. They rock hard. Give thanks to Les Paul for his part in spreading the audible gospel that, just because Jesus loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life, doesn't mean your music has to suck. They not only rocked, but led us into worship with 'Take Me In'. (kudos to Petra for paving the way for that one.)
