yieldIt's been several days since my last post. In blogdom, that's suicide.

A few weeks ago, our pastor told a story about a voicemail message that said, "I'm sorry I'm unavailable at the moment. Please leave your name and number at the tone. Understand that I am currently making some changes in my life these days. If I don't call you back…you are one of those changes."

There are definitely some changes going on in Tomland.

I've become selfish these last few weeks. I've decided to slow down, spend 'quantity' time with my family, and not let tomcottar dot org dictate my daily schedule. I'll still be posting regularly, but I'm not as interested in keeping up with theological and ecclesiastical debates and politics as I am in pursuing Christ intimately. That may lead me to comment on current affairs…but it may not.

I've been compiling a lot of info for a book project. (that's the easy part). The difficult task ahead will be to corral my ADD/OCD and begin the details.

We've added Scuba Steve to our ministry team. He's awesome and I'm loving having him around.

My grandmother passed away Monday night, shortly after midnite. She was 90 years old and, after some recent heart complications, went Home to Jesus. Funeral home visitation and services are this evening and tomorrow. I already miss her. But our separation is temporary. Today she is healthy, happy, and still eternal.

I'm also sticking to my training schedule for the Austin Marathon…beginning with my first organized 5K in a couple of weeks…another time commitment in my daily schedule. But it is teaching me things I've not thought about before. I hope soon we can talk about those things.

And finally, after a week of recouperating from the YS Conferencia-palooza, I've weeded through a TON of great sites and resources on the web and hope to begin passing them on to you next week.
