Blogging has been pretty impossible this week: Christmas/Ministry activities every night, preparing for Darien's early birthday party on Saturday, family coming in, ad infinitum.

Next week will be more of the same.

But the good news is there are some interesting things on the horizon for tomcottar dot org. I'll be starting a few regular threads that will hopefull spark some encouraging discussions (that was an attempt at a teaser…)

Yesterday, Scuba and I spent the day in Ft. Worth at a youth ministry forum which included Alvin Reid, Bubba Thurman, Voddie Baucham, and the Godfather of True Love Waits, (Don) Richard Ross. It was brutal. I had hoped to do some live blogging from Truett Auditorium with my trusty Powerbook, but, alas, the wifi nazis wouldn't give me access. (They're not really nazis…I just didn't know the secret handshake). But I did get some great notes-some of which I agree with, some of which I completely think is fantasy. And we'll get to it next week.

Also, I haven't had time to talk about how much I LOVE this time of year. It's finally gotten cold here in central Texas and, even though I've jacked up my left knee training for the Austin Marathon, I'm enjoying getting out and running/riding in the frigid mornings. December is also packed with GREAT birthdays to ruminate on…more than you think.

I'm at home this morning on this painful dial-up…so that's all for now…
