Quotable Mondays
Posted by tom cottar under theology
We're starting something new here at tomcottar dot org. In catching up on my reading over the past few weeks, I've realized how much I write in the books I'm reading. I highlight. I circle. I add my comments. I sometimes scratch out things as well…I actually love to read. Why? Because I'm beginning to believe that there are basically only two things you'll ever know: what you experience and what you read.
So, for a time, I'm going to start a new feature called Quotable Mondays. Like New Music Tuesdays...only not. Each Monday, I'm going to nail one or two recent quotes I've run across to the door of Tomland. Come in and comment. Interpret. Apply. And remember, brevity is the soul of wit.
To begin with, it's pretty appropos to begin with the following quote I once thought was attrubuted to Frederich Neitczhe. However, Wikipedia has it attributed to Christopher Phillips. Nevertheless… it is this:

"It is not enough to have the courage of your convictions.
You must have the courage to have your convctions challenged."
