On my drive into the church today, Billy Squier came on the radio. More specifically, his 80's hit "My Kinda Lover". And I found myself singing along in worship to Jesus. Yeah, I'm a freak. But the lyrics caught me by surprise:

It brought tears to my eyes. He gives me something beyond 'revenue'…more value than I could ever spend on this cracked kingdom. He keeps me running, and my time with Him is magic in a way that you'll never understand unless you're His. I can't ever go to long without it. The more I'm with Him, the more I decide to stick around for the long haul. My heart pounds faster as I think about Him, and the times He's spoken to me personally–those times have forever changed me and my alliance to Him.
When I was a teenager, I thought Song of Songs (or Song of Solomon) was the 'dirty' book of the Bible, because it talked about things that lovers talk about! Now, I'm thinking it's just the gospel according to Billy Squier…
