Quotable Monday, 4.16.2007 (Part 2)
Posted by tom cottar under theology
Why two parts to the back-by-popular-demand Quotable Monday? Because this one explains why it's been 12 days since my last post.
"When you're up to your ears in alligators, it's hard to remember that your objective is to drain the swamp."
-Dr. J.D. Brooks, professor/theologian/coffee drinker/friend
I've been busy lately with alligators. Too busy to remember that I'm supposed to be draining the swamp. Pre-event planning trips. Project S.E.R.V.E. And the ongoing stuff of ministry. Things like The Domino Effect and how Miller Lite 'gets it' better than most of us in the Evangelical Church…how we are educated beyond our obedience. (More on that tomorrow…)

Dr. Brooks was definely a man amoung men. One of the greatest gentlemen I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Three men I wish I could bottle up and be were all at ETBU: Dr. Potts, Dr. Brooks and Dr. Bob Utley.
