"What is a poet? A poet is an unhappy being whose heart is torn by secret sufferings, but whose lips are so strangely formed that when the sighs and the cries escape them they sound like beautiful music."
-Soren Kierkegaard, dead Danish philosopher/theologian
…and speaking of poets, on Friday I picked up the latest Son Volt offering entitled The Search. Awesome. If you don't have a clue who these cats are, go to SonVolt.net and check out the muse that is Jay Farrar and company. Then run, don't walk, to your local retailers' outlet where The Man is endlessly trying to foist cheap, mass-produced ick on you, and dig through the racks until you can lay your hands on a copy of Okemah and the Melody of Riot and/or The Search. Then you can rest easy. Trust me, the world will be a better place for it.
