Heavy Rotation
I haven’t updated my sidebar in a while..the books, music, etc. need an overhaul (maybe later this week I can get to that). But I thought I’d pass along a couple of new CDs that are in heavy rotation in my iPod.

Chasing After Shalom
I’m just not over it yet, so indulge me.
The past week was filled with the wonderful monotony of living. The laughter of my four-year-old. The smells of Thanksgiving dinner. The excitement of our 7-year-old as we decorate our Christmas tree. Running through the park, walking in the rain, fishing at sunset, hearing the lap of [...]

Getting My Stuff Done
Now that I’m back from vacation, I’ve got a lot of stuff to do it seems. It’s hard to get back in gear and be motivated to get my stuff done, tho. So I found this great video when I should have been getting my stuff done…

CS Lewis is famous for saying that the problem with most Christians is that they don’t want enough. “We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine [...]

The Discipline of Rest
Holidays are insane.

The one that secretly says, "Yeah, I wish I could just stay home and rest, but…whatcha gonna do?" [...]

"Most of us spend the first six days of each week sowing wild oats;
then we go to church on Sunday and pray for a crop failure."
-Fred Allen

Overhaulin’ Wednesday
Below is our latest installment (getting close to the end…) of our ministry’s Overhaulin project. We started with a donated ‘95 Chevy Astro Van and have gone through numerous projects including brakes, transmission, fuel injectors, interior…and now paint and body work. All of which have been graciously donated by area businesses and business people in [...]

Quotable Monday: 11.5.2007
Last night, I slammed my left middle finger in a door at home, proving I’m a dork. It bled for at least an hour and I’ll probably lose my fingernail..[sigh]. Funny how there’s nothing like a little pain to send you into a temporary backslide, proving how frail we really are. Flesh and bone are [...]
