I haven’t updated my sidebar in a while..the books, music, etc. need an overhaul (maybe later this week I can get to that). But I thought I’d pass along a couple of new CDs that are in heavy rotation in my iPod.
First, has to be Tonite the Stars Speak by The Glorious Unseen. (see above video) I think you can call it worship music, although it’s not really like any worship music I’ve run onto before. It’s more reflective, pensive instead of driving and pushing. A little modern/alt/emo, but still very original. You can check out their MySpace and listen to their music or watch a homemade video from Cornerstone here.
The second is a big surprise from the latest efforts of Delirious. I haven’t been too impressed with the past couple of projects they’ve put out, but the latest album Now Is The Time is pretty amazing. Better than that–it’s incredible. At least the first 5 songs are (I can’t seem to get past them–I’m listening, learning, and soaking them up before I move on). Of course, in d style, it’s a very anthemic collection of songs. While The Glorious Unseen are very vertical in their songwriting, Delirious are very declarative. Great stuff. And, if you join the Living Room, you can download an unreleased track from their forthcoming album.
