Today is the big primary day here in the great state of Texas. As well as Ohio and a couple of other, less delegate-rich places.

I’ve already posted about my Electile Dysfunction, so I won’t rehash it here. Suffice it to say, I voted early for a man whose convictions are most like mine, but will most likely get creamed today in the polls. And I’m OK with that. My prediction is that in the general election in November, deciding where to vote will be a tough decision for the majority of evangelicals. Or whether to even vote at all.

But I digress…

For the past month I’ve been chewing and digesting (and regurgitating to chew again) on something. I feel like an old cow. After all, this IS Longhorn country. This morning I found the words of Derek Webb which echo what bugs me about this whole thing.

“The way that moral issues have been co-opted by a political party for nothing else but to develop a constituency whose votes they can depend on is really dangerous.

I feel like it is nearly impossible to walk a party line—especially in a two-party system—and follow Jesus.”

I already have a King. Tell me again why I need a President?
